In the Labuk Bay proboscis monkey reserve were a gang of silvery lutungs, also known as silvered leaf monkeys or silvery langurs. These monkeys maintained their distance from the larger proboscis monkeys and preferred to stay under the shelter of the viewing platforms. They were a very dopey looking collection of monkeys, some almost falling asleep stting on top of the hand rails. The young are born with bright orange fur which darkens after 3-5 months, and these youngsters were such a contrast to their older family members.
